Audra Conner is originally from Spavinaw, Oklahoma. She is 1/2 Cherokee and is a graduate of Ketchum High School where she was active in basketball, track, and cheerleading. She was a class officer and held officer's position in student council. She served as a Senate Page at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, was the first participant selected from Ketchum High to attended Girls' State, received the Masonic Award at graduation, and was Miss KHS her senior year by her teachers and peers.

Audra attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. During her college years she was crowned Miss Cherokee 1988-89, where she traveled to many different states, visited several public schools, attended pow wows and community events, and served as a goodwill ambassador for the Cherokee Nation. In the spring of 1989 she was elected to represent Oklahoma as Cherry Blossom Princess at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. She was also named First Runner-Up for the Miss Indian Oklahoma in 1989. IN May 2000 she graduated NSU with a Master of Science-College Teaching Degree.

Audra has been employed by the summer youth programs through Cherokee Nation, was selected to be a Tribal Intern, where she was named Top Intern 1989, and was a founding member of the C. N. Tribal Youth Council. For the past 12 years she has been a counselor for the Educational Talent Seach Program, working with students grades 6-12, promoting healthy self-esteem, goal setting, decision-making, careers, and college or vocational school entry.

Audra is married to husband of 16 years, D.J. Conner. They have three children, Trey-age 15, Lynsey-age 13, and Macey-age 7. She and her family live in the Peggs community and enjoy doing activities that involve the whole family. They attend pow-wows, rodeos, stomp dances, athletic events and school functions. Audra has attained a goal she set for herself years ago, to serve on the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council, representing District 1-Cherokee County.
